Abstract: Green agriculture is the dominant mode of the sustainable development of modern agriculture. As the main body of agricultural production, farmers’ willingness and behaviors are crucial to the development of green agriculture. Based on the survey data of 370 farmer households in Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, this paper applies the bivariate Probit model to analyze the factors influencing farmers’ willingness and behaviors in green agriculture. The results show that there is a correlation between farmers’ willingness to engage in green agriculture and their behaviors. Such factors as farmers’ political status, years engaged in farming, their perception of the economic value of green agricultural environmental and their perception of hazards have great influence on farmers’ willingness to engage in green agriculture, while the variables of farmers domestic rubbish disposal and livestock and poultry waste treatment will play a significant inhibitory role. This conclusion has a certain significance for further understanding of farmers’ willingness and behaviors to be engaged in green agriculture, which can contribute to the structural reform of the agricultural supply side and the implementation of the “Rural Revitalization” strategy.
