Abstract: By making use of the micro data of CHIPS 2007, this paper firstly adopts the PSM method to solve the problems of the biased errors in sample selection and the endogeneity, then it studies the influence of medical insurance on health, medical services, medical burden and medical expenses of migrant workers, so as to have an effective evaluation. The research results show that the medical insurance is effective for migrant workers; it can significantly improve the health level of migrant workers. Among them, the health effect in the female group is significant, but the male group is not; while the health of low-income groups has been improved significantly, the group with middle and higher income is not significant. In addition, the medical insurance has significantly improved the level of medical service utilization for migrant workers, which is a way to improve the health of migrant workers.
