Abstract: Ancient Greek mythology and religion exerted certain influence upon the birth and rise of Western Christianity. The birth of Christianity was influenced by Orphism in ancient Greece and its transmission in the West could attribute to its fusion with the vision of ancient Greek heroic mythology. The Greek heroism and the concept of fate had a negative effect upon the social external environment and people’s inner spiritual world, promoting Christianity up to the summit of Western religion.
